Review | iPhone 5 to be announced at WWDC

It’s official: we’ll be spending at least the next six months listening to iPhone 5 rumors. Heck, depending on when Apple announces it, that could go as high as 10 months. The latest bit of fodder for the rumor mill is now telling us that the iPhone 5 will be announced at WWDC (the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference) in June.
This, of course, would put the iPhone 5 release a mere eight months after the release of the iPhone 4S. After the 2011 iPhone showed its face four months later than usual, the big question is whether the next iPhone (everyone is assuming it will be called the iPhone 5) will go back to the old June slot, or if the 4S’s October release was establishing a new pattern.
One factor that potentially flies against the June release rumor is that Apple had monumental success in releasing the iPhone 4S in October. People will buy iPhones in droves no matter when they’re released, but the holidays are the official season of shopping. It wouldn’t be a bad idea for Apple to stick with that prime time release schedule.
Of course rumors and speculation can  and will  take us in a million different directions before Tim Cook takes the stage to announce the next iPhone. A June release sounds plausible, but only a select few people (who have signed their life away to secrecy) know for sure.
Some of the most whispered-about features of the iPhone 5 are a larger display, NFC, and a quad-core A6 chip.
